NH FOOD BANK'S STEEL CHEF COMPETITION
The New Hampshire Food Bank's 9th Annual Steel Chef Challenge, presented by Service Credit Union and founding sponsor, Comcast, will feature celebrity chef, Marcus Samuelsson, hosting an exciting cooking competition featuring four of NH's best professional chefs! Join the fun on March 17, 2025 for an exciting evening in support of the NH Food Bank and its programming!
The Food Bank will transform the Armory Ballroom at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Downtown in downtown Manchester into a grand dining room, seating approximately 680 guests. Attendees will watch live as the competition between chefs heats up, enjoy a fabulous dinner curated by Chef Samuelsson and have the opportunity to take part in both live and silent auctions!
Attendees with VIP tickets will attend the VIP portion of the event which takes place before the competition (VIP entry begins at 5pm). VIPs can meet and greet the celebrity chef, get autographs and enjoy appetizers, complimentary beer, wine and a signature cocktail as well as sample menu offerings from past winners and nominees!
This will be an exciting evening to support a worthy cause!
LOCAL CHEFS COMPETE
Local NH chefs can apply for a chance to secure a spot in the Steel Chef Challenge hosted by acclaimed chef, Marcus Samuelsson. Four professional chefs will be selected from their applications by a committee organized in conjunction with the NH Food Bank. Don’t miss your chance to compete – deadline to apply is January 31.

Each year, the New Hampshire Food Bank distributes millions of pounds of nutritious food to more than 400 partner agencies throughout NH like food pantries, homeless shelters, soup kitchens, children’s programs, senior centers and more.

Award-Winning Chef, Restaurateur, Author, Activist Marcus Samuelsson is the esteemed chef behind many restaurants worldwide, including Red Rooster Harlem and Red Rooster Overtown in Miami; Hav & Mar in the Chelsea Arts District; Metropolis at the Perelman Performing Arts Center in lower Manhattan; “Marcus” restaurants in Atlanta and New Jersey, plus several international locations including The Bahamas, Canada, and Ethiopia as well as numerous Streetbird and Vibe BBQ outlets in the US and Bahamas.
Samuelsson was the youngest person ever to receive a three-star review from The New York Times. He has won eight James Beard Foundation Awards and was the guest chef for the Obama Administration’s first state dinner.
